I can't find mine, so I need to buy new ones. I started wearing them too late though. My ears ring 24 hours a day.

Answer the phone will ya?

I have hearing damage from other things, so I have a constant ringing in my ears.
I don't play loud enough to warrant using ear protection when play my guitar.

Not at the present moment, but I should since the other guitarist in the band I am in finds it necessary to have a half-stack even though he's never played a gig in his life, let alone one where you need that much watts and speakers, but since Zakk Wylde and Dimebag play through stacks, he had to get a freakin half stack. Thats what I get for playing with people younger than me,....

No. I have permanent hearing damage in my left ear due to a guitard in one of my old bands thinking that any notes he played absolutely MUST be played at full volume, up above the 22nd or 23rd frets and only on the G. B, and E strings (3, 2, and 1). I play with smarter guitards these days . They will only play an the lower pitch strings above the 20th fret.

Like some of the other older guys here, my ears ring 24/7. A lot of it is damage from my Navy days. An aluminum box of a room, full of guys running power tools gets pretty loud. I had damage when I left at 26. These days standing in front of a loud amp can actually hurt after a while. I use Hearos if I'm going to be cranking it. They work wonders.

Nope, I've never tried anything, although I probably should to protect my ears. I can't have anything that might interfere with me judging the sounds coming from my amp. Next thing you know, I'm turning up the amp so I can hear things clearly and everybody else is telling me to turn down. I don't think it would ever work for me.

That's why you should use Hearos. They have a very even db reduction across the spectrum. Or not and you can join us in 24/7 ear ringing and pain from loud noises.

I think it's a good idea to use them. I think that Ted Nugent once said that one of his ears is only useful for decoration now. And I think everyone's heard of Pete Townsend's tinnitus-he has to play stage shows in a baffled area from what I've read.

I've been using hearing protection for a long time ... at concerts and doing gigs of my own.

I was given some by a student when I taught guitar--both individuals and bands.

I think it was a joke so I wouldn't hear their playing.
I hate sticking things in my ears--but it's a good idea when the volume is high.
