Good score Rick! I haven't had a chance to spend much time here the last few days, but I figured you'd end up snatching that one, too good to pass up for sure. And for a cool hundred...you really can't beat that with a stick.

i like a metalic red. yeah...... thats what i might go for too, like a lipstick red.

I think a nice metallic red would look awesome. Either that or like a candy red would be nice too, with a blackguard.

Good score!

Go with red for the maple fretboard...save the green for rosewood.

If you go with Candy Apple Red, use the gold. Otherwise, chrome.

The Armadillo hath spoken...

I just realized I'm being an imperious jackass to you about your guitar... Sorry about that!

Ok I have very very specific views about bigh headstock strats.
The 70's vibe is a must.
There are only two colour for a 70's strat. Black and White.

Or if you want something different, go Clapton Blind Faith era. Put a double bound Tele body on it. One of the coolest looking bits of lumber I've ever seen.

(BTW When people say Marshall sound, thats what I think of)

As much as I adore Candy Apple Red (and if you go CAR get TwelveBar to spray it. His is the ultimate take on that colour, even better than my CS CAR strat), I can't opt for it in this instance.
Also leave the gold alone, I'd go light relic/closet classic looking.

ive seen them like that niki.
i had plans for 2 builds next yr. i want to do a strat with a tele neck, and a tele with a strat neck. kinda like twins but reversed necks. these will have the best of the best
hardware on them and some serious pups. i was gonna do them this yr but im off to a bad start this yr and money is gonna be tight for a while.
i like the all gold from the MIM deluxe players strat and the robert cray guitars.
who knows. i do like high quality chrome parts too with the right color red.
it cant be a dark red though. im just toying with ideas at the moment. its looking like the blk/red idea is the route im interested in most at the moment.
the prettiest color ive seen is on my 50th deluxe, its that tangerine color.
my Lord its beautiful. but that crys for a rosewood neck.
