This evening I started the daunting task of gutting out my "Wreckroom" and music room and switching them over.I took some pix at different angles so I can post the transformation. It's going to be a huge job as everything has to be taken out first and a full length entertainment unit made to go against one wall. Then I have to shampoo all the carpets.I also have to unload all 7 or 8 of my bookcases and sort out all my books and magazines so that anything pertaining to music goes in the music room and the rest in the TV room.I also have a huge mug collection of at least a couple of hundred plus my hundreds of CDs,albums,45s and tapes.

Then the fun begins setting up the music room so that I can have ready access to my 26 guitars,3 keyboards and 12 amps, several speaker cabs and effects. Before I had to literally dig through piles of gear to get out a guitar, amp or whatever I needed, now with any luck these days will soon be all gone.I'll post before and after pix once it's done. Now if I could only talk the Missus into getting a set of Ludwigs or Premiers.

When I moved into my current house, one of my main requirements was that there was an extra room for my music. Lo and behold I found a house in California with a basement; which is VERY rare. I love having everything right at hand when I want it. And I'm sure my wife loves having me in the basement when the tubes are hot and the volume's on 10
I know it's going to be a lot of work, but enjoy it once you're done!

Tim,I just noticed your signature for the first time-it's a very profound statement-one I'm sure a lot of folks in the middle east and other parts of Africa can identify with now.

Quite a project there!
It should turn out nice in the end to have a spot to have it all in one place.
No more, "Where did I put that...?"

Sounds like a really cool project. We built a bedroom in the basement for our son a couple years ago and I've always had my eye on that as my music room once jr moves on with life.

He's a junior in high school now so the clock is ticking. :)

Look forward to seeing your photos.

Good luck with your project and save some space for a recording setup.

Even a stand alone unit like a BR-600 can do amazing things!

I was talking to my handyman buddy this afternoon and he's going to start the entertainment center on Saturday if he doesn't have any more urgent jobs come up. I'm quite capable and have the know-how but since I wrecked my back I'm not physically able to do such work. This guy is more of a perfectionist than I am so I don't mind him doing it.I've taken some "before"pix of the wreck room and music room and am hoping to post them the next time Blinkers comes over for a few strums and a "mug up" -that's Newfoundese for "Cuppa".

Blinkers has walked me through the process of uploading pix from my camera to my files and onto Photobucket and then onto the forum but I end up getting it all ballsed up when I try.I guess I'm still a Luddite at heart.LOL.Someday I might have an epiphany and get it right just like the day when getting the feedback intro to Foxy Lady came to me.

I've been thinking about doing this for ages  the room over the hall would be a perfect music room. It's full of junk though, maybe I'll do it in the spring! Good luck GS, I'm looking forward to the pix.

Yesterday afternoon we took all the posters and paintings down to prepare for the entertainment center build and got a good part of my mug collection out of storage, washed and put beck on the shelves in the bar section. The next job is to move all the albums and CDs,the stereo cabinet and reroute the satellite TV and speaker wires so the entertainment center can go in on the weekend.
