Here's the thing on octave up and ring modulator.

http://www.carbonlogic.co.uk/artist/nick/oct-up-and-ring-modulator

What I really like is the vowel'y sound. Like someone is speaking into the thing.

Sing??? Come on Bill, this is me we're dealin with!

Anyways got it done with mixed results. Some settings work well, others less so. It's very lo-fi and very very unique.

Anyways heres one of my favourite settings that sounds quite vocal as I got into it and started playing more staccato.

http://www.carbonlogic.co.uk/artist/nick/vocal-effect

My main problem is that the effect needs a fair old whack of input gain. So I have to devise a small clean boost circuit to operate alongside the voicechanger circuit.

:D :D :D
Hey I thought it sounded pretty cool, What are we going to call it... The Disto niko peddal???? or "The Ninja Screamer"... Good job, and great fun

Bill

...The thing sounds like a Dalek on smack.

It's a sound only heard in the heart of dying sun. On smack.

I can't help thinking, what would Duke Ellington have done with this tone? Killed himself, I expect.

In the words of the great Vinnie Jones: "It's been emotional".

Gotta say, I believe this sound clip belongs on the "do glue joins in Strat bodies make a difference to tone?" thread. :D

More justification for the things existence.
The Thing is becoming it's working title. I can't think of how else to describe it.

Ah well, time to calm the pre-amp circuit and house the thing.

You could wear you're dark shades and sit in your car at the side of the road and point it at passing motorists. Should be good for a grin.

Very very naughty idea. I loikes it!

Think I'll do that with the shell of the thing.

In fact I have a big yellow VIZ coat. I may wear that too. Or is that dangerously close to impersonating a officer?

Got some time off tommorow. May do a hour of that outside my kids school. I see no acceptable reason for people to speed outside schools.

Ah well got it finished. Managed to increase the natural input gain by replacing the input capacitor.

Looking for a name now, then onto a graphic.

I'll post a soundclip soon as I've had a cup of tea. Cos the soldering iron has only just gone off.
Thinking of calling it something like Beelzebubs underpants, or Beelzebubs flatulance. Cos thats what it sounds like.
Oh it works great before the wah, not so good after it.
