Awesome I always wanted a Japanese Fender 8) Geez Brad, can you and the fender crew make it any harder on me? Oh how I want one now... hopefully graduation money will be good this year, as well as having two jobs...

I think the prices are justified too. They look and sound (and probably feel) amazing, and would probably be a guitar I would keep for a lifetime... (after all, you don't come across many fender '51s, '72s and Mustangs, like you do strats and teles)

Hi,

Brad, Quick question, though I am sure I already know the answer, but just in case...

Will this series have some models available left handed? these are the sorts of guitars that left handed players just want to scream for, especially the mustang sort of style guitars.

I can appreciate that there are not as many left handed players out there (as in the ones who actually play lefty guitars) but considering fender is a big name and had a lot to do with Kurt cobain, Himself a lefty, I find it a let down that some of these marvellous guitars are not available left handed.

also with the quality of Fender Japan, there's even more of an argument towards created more designs in this range and maybe in a left handed format, they are well crafted guitars.

I don't mean to be on a soapbox or anything, I just feel a little disappointed....

many thanks

dude i see where your coming from and agree with you 100% on your issues.
i wonder what it would cost if you went through the custom shop to get the guitars you need? if you just picked a model you liked and told them thats what you wanted but left handed i wonder what the price difference would be? i mean since being left handed is the only custom thing about it, i wouldnt believe it should be that much more expensive.
just a thought and i wouldnt be suprised if i was wrong, i usually am.
oh Kurt cobain isnt the only person fender has done business with that was a lefty.
there are several way bigger names than he.
im interested in knowing why it does seem fender isnt lefty friendly. i seem to remember in times past that they were a little better about it.

These are very interesting guitars. They look like a genuinely worthwhile addition to the catalog to my eye. Nice work, Fender! 8)

BTW:

Right on. That post should be added to every thread where anyone ever complains about the price of new guitars. Most people have no idea how amazingly much they're getting for such little money in production line instruments.

Cheers - C

I am a more traditional kind of guitar guy, but I like the look of both the Mustang and especially that 51...will have to give one a ride and see what it wounds like.

So far I'm liking the vibe of the Pawn Shop Series. I look forward to meeting them in person at my local Fender Dealer.
Although the "never were but should have been" isn't exactly true. That crazy '51 has already been put out under the Squier marque.
It still remains to be seen if Fender can bring them in at a sensible price point

Sadly, you're correct - no plans for lefty versions of these that I'm aware of currently. :-(

Brad, I agree- I think the Mustang Special will be the best of the lot, just by looking at it. If I bought one of the three, I'd buy that one.

......from anything ive seen come out of there they have a long way to go in the QC dept before they can ever expect to get anything close to that for a fender guitar.

What's your impression of the PRS SE line?
