Here is my take, and I think I am being more critical than some of the aforementioned...

1) The Mustang is pretty cool. Kinda weird seeing it as a hard tail, but definitely a cool guitar.
2) The Strats ... These are probably great playing guitars, but I just can't get by the ugly pickguard. These are not attractive guitars to me.

I'm with you on that. I think I could get by with the Mustang but the only reason is that it looks more like a Mustang. Old habits are hard to shake.

I like the mustang. The others are almost the opposite of my Frankencaster...a Strat neck on a Tele body.
