It was finally confirmed today that Kiss will be playing at the Exploits Salmon Festival this year in Grand Falls-Windsor NL.It has been rumoured for years that Kiss may come here as Gene Simmons is married to Newfoundland's own Shannon Tweed.I'm not a huge Kiss fan but it may be worth while checking out just for the novelty of it.

he guitslinger,
I get when lots of people are not KISS fans, but even so, if you have a chance I would try to see them once just for the show. They put on a great show and have never heard a non-fan say they didn't have a good time
Not sure of the venue size, but I wouldn't see them in a place where they can't have fireworks, or a place with a low ceiling.

They were in a casino here in Ontario a few years ago (embarrassing i know) and it didn't appeal to me since I knew there show would be restricted by the venue

Just my 2cents

ive seen more kiss shows and been to more after parties than i can count.
great bunch of guys, with a very hard working crew.
they have have been amazing for decades and will always be in my mind one of the greatest groups ever. i grew up on them. the wow factor kiss had was equaled by no other band in history. their stage show is one of those things that one must see to understand. paul stanley is probably one of the best frontmen rock has ever seen.
you will be hard pressed to find somebody that can work a crowd like he can.
with that being said and i hate to go here, the last 3 or so times i saw kiss, they werent anything like their former selves. nothing like. now i will say that each time i saw them was on their last leg of the tour and at that age touring takes a huge toll on ones body.
so if you go see them dont have super high expectations. i do bet that when you come out you will soon find a kiss record in your collection. even if you have to pay some kid to go in and get it for you.

Way cool, I completely agree, there show has been getting worse with time, but I still think it would be worth the price.
Fellow KISS fan, nice!! Been a fan for years.
Cheers

Hi Voodoo Blues, getting Kiss to play the Salmon Festival was a make or break last resort for the organizers. For the past 3 or 4 years they have lost money at the venue so they figured that by getting someone as big as Kiss the gate receipts would increase greatly. They are having it early this year though(July 9) to accomodate Kiss's busy schedule so there's a chance that the weather may not be warmed up enough by then as our best summer weather is mid July to mid August.

I'd like to see them but I'm not exactly crazy about heading to the Salmon Festival....you know it will be raining :D

I'd much rather see them at an indoor venue....

So it's obvious I'm a fan, just got some reserved tix for the 7/16 show at Rock USA in Oshkosh and that'll be #21 for me.

I took some slamming on here before for being an insane fan, but that's ok. It's true that age is catching up to them, but who can blame them for not wanting to stop? If any of us was in that position we'd probably do the same. Paul is an awesome frontman and the years have worn on him probably more than Gene. The new guys, Tommy/Eric are great musicians who put a good kick in the $@! for the music.

If you can catch them, go with an open mind and you'll probably enjoy yourself. These are my favorite songs so I have fun every time. Plus now that I've moved from my hometown it's always a great chance for me and a friend from there to spend a day hanging out.

This was at the Target center Nov 2009

Really? I didn't see that. It looks wider than the classic Love Gun era stage, I guess I'd have a field day on a stage that big.

yeah it might be wider but theres not a lot going on there it looks like. again im looking at a pic.
kiss was always known to have these huge elaborate stages. you know that.
the stage was always functional and very much a part of the show itself.
the only one that truely sucked was the 10th ann tour. that was the army tank stage.
very disappointing indeed.
