Risking the wrath of the Ninja (hater of most things Dunlop 8) )--try the regular ol' Crybaby.

I know a lot of people don't like them, but I have had mine since the mid-90s and it's never once failed me. I (personally) like the tone, but it might be because it works in conjunction with my other pedals, amp and playing style.

...plus, you can carve up the foot platform to whatever you want:

I'm fully aware that some people like Dunlop gear and in a rare moment of adult like contemplation. I decided to keep my opinions of their stuff to myself.

And yes, carving your own top is a wonderfull idea. My Jen wah is housed in a Dunlop casing. I may be carving away soon.

Seward take the advice of an earlier post try several at your local shop and let your ear decide. Thats what I did and ended up with the Ernie Ball Wah. It has served me well.

Whew! I was afraid of a Ninja attack--I wouldn't be able to defend myself because I left my shinobigatana in my other pants.

To everyone who is contemplating carving their wah top, let it be known that you're going to be a bit dedicated...that rubber is thicker than it looks (or at least it is on the mid-1990s models)...I'm no sculptor (as you can see) but it was fun to personalize my wah, especially since Dunlop doesn't think I'm famous enough to warrant my own signature model. :?

The fact that they don't know me may work to my advantage...

Seward--

Congrats on the Hendrix wah...back in the early 90s I had an earlier version of the old Dunlop "Jimi Hendrix System" Wah and I really liked it. It was my backup wah (I found it at a pawn shop for $30), so when I had some financial difficulties (The Great Guitar and Amp Collection Massacre of 1996), I sold it for $70. It sounded good (a bit deeper in tone and more "quacky") but I liked the Original Crybaby just as well (and I could get more for the "Jimi Hendrix System" version).
