I'm deciding on purchasing one of these loopers. I feel like my playing can get so much better if I had something to jam with at home:

Both cost about 170 online, and I'm leaning toward the JamMan. It had a rave review in Guitar World, and I love the fact that its just as user friendly, can store a loop up to 35minutes, has internal and external memory, as well as computer interface.

The BOSS is a great pedal too, I just think it would be worth it to go with the JamMan.

I have the Jamman and just love it. I added a 4gb card to it and it can store up to 14 hours. The maximum length of a loop however, is 10 min not 35. The unit can store up to 35 minutes total in 99 memories or 198 with the addition of card. I like to download backing tracks to it and jam along with them, makes me a one man band.

those jamman's are hard to beat. i have the boss RC 20xl. its a cool pedal and worth saving the extra bucks for over the boss your looking at. the new ones have a usb port as well i believe.

Gotcha. Did the Jamman come with a SD card? I'm sure we got one lying around somewhere...

the RC-20 is pretty great(and a bet a lot more user friendly with the controls), I just can't really justify putting too much money toward one. they also have the RC-3, which is more like the computer friendly version of the RC-2.

I'm just trying to save my money afterwards. I don't think I'll be making anymore major guitar purchases soon, I don't want to be broke going into college...

i understand your delima. i know 2 friends that returned the single pedal for the double.
i was about to buy the single when my friend, the salesman also, talked me into the 2 pedal. compare the two for yourself, then look on amazon for the cheapest price.

I was wondering that too... It didn't make sense to me to have both like a 2 & 3, 20 & 30.

I think this will be probably one of my best investments. I think all I'm going to take to college is my strat, pedals, and this cheap fender bass amp I have lying around here (which does not sound too bad at all... gives a really good clean). I don't plan on doing anything with a band, and I'll have a pc to record and save some stuff.

This looper will help me spark new ideas and vastly improve my soloing. I feel like I plateau in my playing, and its hard to work on soloing techniques without anything to back you up. I feel like I'm stuck doing the same old moves over and over and over... :x

exactly why i bought mine. plus i use backing tracks cd's, that sometimes i even load into my pedal to practice with or just use as a cd.

Ha - that's a good heads-up on the RC-20 being discontinued.

I never thought a looper was for me, but recently I've been having some fun with the basic loop function on my Boss DD-20 and beginning to want to reach beyond its limitations. I just checked out the RC-30 and frankly it is way beyond my needs. But a discounted RC-20 might be just the thing...

Thanks Bill! :D

Cheers - C

Yeah - I find I can burn away hours at a time just noodling over simple chord patterns on the delay pedal's loop setting. It kinda feels childish - but fun!

A guilty pleasure...

haha I love that sound. I been trying to figure out some delay stuff on my RP250 to emulate that. The hard part is the sharp attack at the end...

Well, at work I found out that a BOSS RC-2 (or 3 if they switch them out) would run me about $200.08 (haha... Nah I think I might pass...) so I went on amazon.com and found a company selling the JamMan for $165.00 (no shipping fee either). All positive feedback, a great return policy If there is anything wrong, and it should be in next week... so I'll post pics.

On a side note: do you think its bad that I didn't buy one from the place I work at? I love the store, and I think I'll purchase a good Taylor from there when I have the money, but I can't justify spending that much for a loop pedal... :? I just hope my boss doesn't feel betrayed...

You can find some great deals online too when it comes to pedals. All of mine have come from online...
