anyone else notice that there is only one mustang model in the whole fender catalog (and with a pretty high retail price)? don't you guys think it's time for a new mustang model? what would you guys like a mustang to have if there ever was a new mustang model?... i already gave my idea in the other guitars forum (speaking of which check out my topic some of you might agree with my idea if you do please participate ;) )

Isn't it ironic that what was once the low budget"student"guitar of Fender's instruments is now out of reach for most student players?I think that they should make a lower priced MIM model in the spirit that the Mustang was first made-as a starting point for beginners.

I love the short scale Fender's like the Mustang. But $900 for an import model Mustang is ridiculous !!! Some "student model" eh? LOL how many parents or first timers to guitar are gonna drop almost a grand for an axe? There's nothing that should make them so expensive....not more so than a Strat or Tele. The price of this new import model is sneaking up in to the territory of a REAL vintage Mustang guitar :D I agree, a Blacktop Mustang would be nice, just so there is a more reasonably price mustang available.
