When I first started studying jazz guitar back in 1986, my teacher taught me this chord... The dominant 13... when fingered as displayed below, it gives the perfect dominant jazz sound...

least favorite maj13 -- too much work for such a crappy sound...

Hi CB: but hold on a minute - over on this thread you were very much against the idea of guitarists learning stuff:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55341

So now you're saying you've had lessons? And jazz lessons at that?

What's as guy to think...?

Cheers - C

EDIT: onmygod - it has just been helpfully pointed out to me via PM that I've confused user CajanBlues with CedarBlues. What an idiot I am! Apologies to all concerned! D'oh!

I like going between Em and Esus2/G(024000)

JUst like the sound and I don't know what it would become but then using 025000 after is pretty cool.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

In fact 95 percent of guys here are called either Mike or Bill. Actually, I've had Private Messages from folks asking me if I can rename myself Bill just to keep things simple...

Cheers - C

Mate, I'm also "a drummer too". The brain works awful slow: I'm still thinking it through.

You are absolutely correct. Again, abject apologies. I seemed to be typing with my eyes closed, which is never a clever trick.

You shouldn't change your name to Bill, Mike.

lol both my fave chord and my least fave chord are acoustic chords:

my least favorite is D# cause it's a pretty complicated chord whether it's based on the D chord or the C chord

my fave is the acoustic G chord cause if you put it the right way it's as if you're giving somebody the finger

Ralf...

I would doubt anyone plays that D# (Eb) with the D string fingered... I always play that chord as a triad with the bottom three strings... and that triad easily becomes a Maj7,Dom7 just by going 1/2 steps down on the B string... But I think you probably already know that :)

Triads are your friend...

Amaj6 sliding down to a Gmaj6 has caught my fancy lately. It sounds like part of a song I've heard, but can't place it.
