Any particular chord you really like the sound of more than others when it's allowed to ring out on its own?

I'm really partial to the open position D when played using the bridge pickup of my strat. I also like Em7 as a barre chord using the neck pickup.

Least favorite chord for me is any formulation of F barred at the first fret. It also corresponds to the chord change I'm most likely to screw up when going from an open position chord.

On acoustic, I like the 'country chords' on the lower frets.

On electric, I like to hear the A chord ring out.

On piano/keyboard, I like the C chord and it's inversions.

I don't really have a least favorite chord. :?

I'm not partial to a particular tonic, but I like major 1st-inversions, and of course diminished 5ths (or augmented 4ths if your a glass half full kind of person).

i'd have to say... a B. or an A. or D.... maybe even an F or C. hell i like 'em all :D i never mess around with 7ths, dimished inverted whatnots... i already have so many possibilities with the chords i know, so i'll stick to them  i usually play in C anyway, so i'll probably branch out more when i get used to different keys.

used to, i would hate an F. but now i use it quite often.

Fb would be E, but not barred - - so maybe F/Bb7 ?

I love the first chord in Spanish Castle Magic,it's a C#9/7 or something like that-a very strange chord but the essence of coolness.

Not long back I came up with a nice chordal riff that has stuck firmly in my head. Emi Add 9 (no 7th) To Cmaj7.
Play it open for the intro then barred at the 7th fret (X7575X to X7577X). Though those versions add the 7th and miss the 9th on the first shape.
Then the next bit goes along a Dmaj7 (X546XX) to Gmaj.

Nice clean, bit of a game finding a bridge to mix the two sections.

Don't have any chords I don't like.

If you're talking enharmonically, then yes.

My former piano teacher would take someone to task for saying that an Fb is the same thing as an E. I've still yet to come up with a reason why I'd need to play in Fb as opposed to E, but then again, I'm not one of the heavyweights mentioned here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-flat_major

Cmaj7/G

1 - O
2 - O
3 - O
4 - 2
5 - 3
6 - 3

In "Breathe" (Dark Side) when Dave sings, "For long you live and high you fly," there's a Cmaj7/G just before the Bm7 and I love the sound of that chord.

E9(no5)/A is another cool sounding chord used by Zep quite a bit but it's a bugger to train your fingers to go there. You'll hear it on the "mor" of, "And when I say to you tomorrow..."

1 - 2
2 - 3
3 - 1
4 - 2
5 - O
6 - X

An open position E has a nice ballsy sound when you strum it and let it ring, but to me all that matters is how the song ends up as a whole. It's like the old saying...Don't focus only on the mountain ahead, Focus on the journey.

What I like: Fmaj7 - 133210
I just like the way it sounds. I like suspended (sus) chords, too.

What I don't like: Those crazy jazz chords where you need 6-inch fingers and two C-clamps to make it happen.
