Hey now!

Just last week, I decided to re-organize my pedalboard for "optimal tone", putting my modulation effects towards the end, filters in the beginning and so on. Anyway, once I was finished, I plugged in, only to find my tone was drastically being sucked away! I was hoping to find some help in what the case may be, and what order they should really be in. The pedals I run are currently in this order:

Budda Wah -> Boss TU-2 -> Electro Harmonix Q-Tron+ -> MXR Custom Comp -> MXR Distortion+ -> Boss GE-7 -> MXR Phase 90 (Script, 74 Re-issue) -> Ibanez FL-9 -> Boss CH-1 -> Boss NS-2 (all powered by a Dunlop Brick, and Godlyke Power all (secondary supply).

I also run my delays (Boss DD-6, BBE Two Timer) through the effects loop by themselves, as well as an Ernie Ball VP JR. I place the VP JR on the front of the chain, in front of the Budda. However, I wasn't using the VP or either of the delays when trying to use the current setup of pedals. I guess I should've just left it alone to begin with!

Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks! 8)

Contrary to popular practice, I put my modulation effects (Boss RT20 Rotary Ensemble, Crybaby Wah. MXR Phase 90) right in the middle of my effects chain. If you notice (picture below), there's an overdrive before (Ibanez TS9) and after (MXR M-66 Classic Overdrive) my modulation effects...that way I have options--overdriven wah or wah overdriven, overdriven phase shifter or phase shifter overdriven, etc.

I did put my delay-delay-delay-delay at the very end of the signal chain, after my ISP Decimator noise supressor...that way the supressor doesn't see the repeats as "noise" and screw everything up.

In order, the pedals are:
•Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner
•Ibanez TS-9 (re-issue) Tube Screamer (overdrive)
•Boss RT-20 Rotary Ensemble (rotary speaker simulator)
•Dunlop MWA Crybaby Wah (modified GCB95)
•MXR M-101 Phase 90 (phase shifter) (late 70s block logo, no LED)
•Dunlop JH-2S Jimi Hendrix System Classic Fuzz (now discontinued)
•MXR M-66 Classic Overdrive (limited run Guitar Center exclusive)(modified)
•MXR M-133 Micro Amp (gain/volume boost)
•ISP Decimator G-String (noise reducer)
•MXR M-169 Carbon Copy Analog Delay
•Morley ABY (A/B box for amplifier channel switching)

I don't use an effects loop, partially because my amp doesn't have one and partially because I have heard too many people griping about tone suckage. I don't have any experience with them personally, so I can't help you there.

I just prefer to hit the front of my amp with the effects...sounds best to me, IMHO.
