Has anyone bought or played a Martin LXM Little Martin Acoustic Guitar before? I'm looking to use it as a travel guitar and somewhat of just a fun acoustic to mess around with whenever I dont feel like playing my Epiphone.

I have recently checked out several low end Martin guitars. The HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is a very cheap material that does not even resemble wood. The stratabond neck is long thin strips of something that might resemble wood in another life and then glued together. The few Martins I checked out I could feel all the ridges in the neck.

I recommend a Baby Taylor Mahogany or a Taylor GS Mini.

The Baby Taylor Mahogany has an Tropical American Mahogany top, Sapele laminate sides and back, Tropical American Mahogany neck with an Ebony fretboard.


The Taylor GS Mini has a solid Sitka Spruce top, Sapele laminate sides and back, and a Sapele neck with ebony fretboard.
