I would say grunge but I'd only class things like the meat puppets and Nirvana as grunge, so lets say Seattle bands of the 90's. What's your favourite?

Of the bands listed Alice In Chains would be my pick but aren't Nada Surf and Rogue Wave from Seattle? If so one of them would get my vote but they were more late 90s.

Meat Puppets are from Arizona, bro.

But I'd say either Nirvana or AiC. Nirvana because their music had a MASSIVE impact on my life, and through them I discovered pretty much all of the music I listen to today, and AiC because pretty much everything they put out with Layne was truly brilliant (Dirt being a strong contender for my favorite album of all time).

nirvana and pearl jam, close up by soundgarden

its raellyu stupid how people think that those "grunge" bands sing about teenage angst. i dont even know where they got that idea. the only "grunge" song thats about teenage angst that i've heard is serve the servants by nirvana, and thats only the first couple of lines

If you voted Nirvana your ignorant, they're from Aberdeen and lived in Olympia and Tacoma, not until the end of his life did Kurt buy a house in Seattle, by default Soundgarden

Pearl Jam for sure. Those guys were on their game in the early 90s. AIC is a close second for me as well.

I love "meat puppets" but I couldn't give a damn about that band.

As for the poll, put me down for Pearl Jam.

Those are the only people that ever considered any of those bands part of a unified scene, so I would say it applies to Nirvana just as much.

It's more to do with where they PLAYED than where they went to sleep and took a 5h1t really. Point of example is GN'R were considered part of the L.A. scene cos they played there. Not one of the original 5 was from L.A. originally.

Floyd, Not really, right before SLTS hit, everyone in Seattle was raving about a "scene" the press later caught on after the MTV raping

The whole idea of a Seattle "scene" was thought up by Sub-Pop to help market their acts.
