Yeah, It sort of sped through the early 90's then fizzeled out pretty quick. It's hard to keep a music scene going ( grunge ) when every band sounds the same. 8)

dude they did dint they? every band sounded the same.
how neil young got the godfather of grunge title i dont know.
now there were a couple band out of all that that i can respect, but i didnt care for them. it was the end of the hair metal of the 80's then it went to grunge. grunge died and its been hiphop every since.

Neil Young Released Hey Hey, My My, in like 1978. I think that was the only grungy sounding tune he did, and I guess the grunge movement needed to have something to show that it originated from. I guess it was that song, so they made Neil the "Godfather of Grunge" A little bit different than James Brown being the "Godfather of Soul". So Neil Young got on stage a couple times with Pearl Jam or whoever and sang that song with them. I lived in Seattle from like 1989 to 1995, and like it or not, the whole music scene there got exploited so bad it became a joke. There were so many bands in Seattle that sucked and thought they were going to be the next big thing, it was ridiculous. You'd go to a party, and all everyone was talking about was their band. I was in a band there too, but I started telling everyone that I wasn't just to raise an eyebrow when I got introduced to someone, (mainly Chicks, and funny thing is it worked) Man that whole scene got played out in settle by 1993, after the movie "Singles" came out. Everybody in Seattle was turned off by Grunge, and before Kurt Cobain killed himself, they were all hating on him too. I don't blame them. He was a "Wee-Bit" overrated in my opinion. By the Way, If anyone else was living there in that time period, Just remember the Lake Union Pub, and what type of bands played there on any given night, that should prove my point. I will admit, I did see one of my favorites form Canada, D.O.A. Every time they came into town. I also saw Stone Temple Pilots open up for Butthole Surfers at Seattle Center. I think Stone Temple Pilots had Way Better Tunes than most of the Grunge Acts. 8)

see, not living there we the rest of the world didnt get to see the big pic. we got what the media gave us, we got what Mtv wanted us to see too. so i guess in a understandable way, seattle got labeled for it as a whole.
