i want to build a footswitch to give me more control over my boss me-70. boss makes the fs5u and fs6 models for this, but as i have built my own footswitches a few times, i think i can handle it and save a few bucks too.

i believe i need the following items:
project box
trs cable 1/4" trs jack
2 switches
wire, solder, etc.

my questions include:
what type of switch- spst-spdt- i would imagine momentary - and normally closed or open
and- how would it be wired
