IMO, True Velvets are the best single coil set DiMarzio offers. Cruisers (again, IMO) are just another run-of-the-mill midrange belching rails pickup; in this particular case, a low output one. YMMV.

I heard alot of good about Dimarzio area 58's combined with an area 61 in the bridge. At their websight they have sound samples on these pickups.
There's a christian guitar player named Lincoln Brewster that uses them. I love his fender sound.....

I put the Cruisers in the neck and middle and after two days I took them back out and put the Texas Specials back in. They were OK, I guess, But if you are looking for a noiseless, singlecoil, I think the Area's are money better spent. I tried the Blade type because I was trying to even out the sound difference on the E and B strings, I wanted all the strings to have a more balanced output, Well, I think the Texas specials sound much better than the Cruisers, So, I'm learning to adapt to the different output of the first two strings. True Velvets are not noise canceling, I still like Dimarzio pup's, But I don't know who the Cruisers are made for. And those soundclips on their website.....Don't sound nothin' like the pickups I bought. Buy them from guitarcenter.com, You get 30 days to return them if you don't like them. I love their exchange and refund policy. 8)

For HB single coils, I honestly believe (all things considered) that the Virtual Vintage Area series are the absolute best.

+1

With a Virtual Vintage Solo Pro in the bridge position.
