Hey Riley, I was headed in this direction: There are a lot of great players that don't even use a pick...like Jeff Beck. Maybe the effort to use a pick is getting in the way of the real goal (sounding good on the guitar).

I am still using a pick, but I am doing a hybrid picking (using my right index finger for some notes instead of a pick). I also just palm the pick sometimes and do passages with my right hand fingers.

There is a lot of oppinion out there that says the tone you get from your fingers is better anyway. :shock:

good peice of advice-but i've already tried playing without a pick, and when my muscles get tierd i do do that, but really hate the tone you get from using your hands. i have taken that to consideration alot of times.

hmm, maybe, i tried those for half a year a while back and at the time it was the worst my muscles have ever been, so i'm no to keen on them :?

Soaking in hot water to help increase blood flow, cold water to reduce swelling.
