I recently bought a Vibra Champ XD and it has worked fine but then today went to play on it and the GT6V6C tube is dead. I get nothing out of the amp. Any reason way the pwr tube would burn out so quickly. The preamp tube actually looks a little weak as well but still working. I will contact a local service center about this. This amp is only 30 days old and has not been treated rough or left on to excess. Any thoughts about this is greatly appreciated. Different or more reliable tubes maybe?

Well as far as tubes go they can be 100%,lasts as long or longer than expected -to- dead on arrival, and anything in between.

There really are no guarantees.

When you say the power tube "burnt out" does it have obvious signs of burning on the glass(burnt label ink)?

Now for recommendations, I like to use JJ Tubes. I just trust them and they last as long as expected and more. (I like to change my output tubes every year or so, depending on how much I play and how loud, keeping that fresh tube tone is essential for me.)

If the amp is only 30 days old then I thing tubes are still in warranty limit.

It sounds like you got a bad tube. I would contact Fender and/or the place you bought the amp, and explain the problem. You'll probably get further with Fender than the guitar shop, but you might be surprised.

I'm sorry your amp crapped out--that's frustrating and disappointing, but I'm sure Fender will make it right.
