Does this mean these guitars accurately replicate the tone of a vintage barnyard cow?

so if the truss rod adjustment is at the body end and it is 22 frets, do you have to remove the pick guard to adjust the truss rod...that make a crap load of sense. Nice looking guitar and sound was kind of nice, but that truss rod makes me go WTF :?:

As for the barn wood, does this mean it could also have more horse power :?:

FWIW

The truss rood at the heel has not bothered me since I got the feel for adjusting necks. Yea, you have to take the neck off to adjust it. But with experience, you can adjust the truss rod pretty accurately with only taking the neck off once ;) It doesn't take long either.....

In the early years, Fender played around with pine and found that a type know as parana pine was one of the better pine woods, it has the same density as alder, but can be hard to locate and is also hard to find full length and width body blanks that do not have knotts, can be found if your looking to spend a few bucks, but why? when you can easily get alder, swamp ash, etc, plus this wood is prone to warpage.

Interesting. I think the FCS is the only company I have heard of making guitar bodies from pine. I bet that's one light guitar.

You're going to need an SG for that; but after one moo you sound like a duck...assuming the duck is out of tune.

Guitars made out of barns (100 years weather and elements tortured), guitars made out of 200 year old wooden floors and guitars made out of 35,000 year old swamp Kauri

When will people understand that it's all a marketing skim...
And why would a barn-wood guitar be so expensive?
Are barns going extinct ?

I'm living to see $15,000 teles made out of cofin wood... They would be "deadly"....

These guitars are made in Wellington, NZ I believe. Kauri is a type of Agathis and can grow to insanely massive proportions. The largest trunk girth was measured at 26metres, fancy that!!

I have seen a trunk carved into a large spiral staircase, that also serves as a central supporting beam for a large museum. Amber from kauri have been found to encapsule insects that are since extinct.

Since it can only be found on the upper North Island of New Zealand and nowhere else on earth- it is dependant on conservation. Trees that have been lumbered are excavated from swamp peat beds that have been felled many many years ago. Most of the population is at the very least 600years old, however most are more than 1000, maybe some exceeding 2000years

There is a luthier in Kerikeri, NZ who has the only found 'highly figured' Kauri and is the only person in the world who has this. An acoustic guitar made from this will set you back at a base price of $35,000 USD.

Legend has it, in the late 1800's an explorer managed to climb a Kauri tree that is branchless until 60metres high (named-Tane Mahuta- God of the forest) with a rope, but when he got to the top, the rope fell, and he was stuck up there and he eventually died of hunger. No-one knew where he was as he did not tell anyone where he went. However, in the 60's an arborist climbed the tree and found his remains along with a pair of boots. Forensics matched a local who went missing nearly 100years before. interesting :)

I bet the CS would'nt be able to find such beautiful wood like this..

Ron Kirn has been making pine Teles for quite a while, using 100 year-old barn pine. Beautiful tones and great sustain. Here's mine:

It also has a stripe of 250 year-old chestnut on the back.
