Post subject: Can you recycle picks

Anybody know if you can recycle picks? I use dunlop tortex and fender celluloids. Just wondering... keep it green!

They told me at the recycling center that they are classified as Hazardous Waste and they couldn't take them. :shock:

I wear mine down to almost nothing. It amazes me how much the white fender heavy picks can wear.

if you only use them for 1 week you can recycle them with me. i'll PM you my address. :P

That's what I got my last girlfriend for our 1st. anniversary............ But I had to reuse the picks. :D Some Girls, The just don't understand when a gift comes from the Heart. :wink:

I prefer to recycle guitars... other people buy them first, break them in, then I buy 'em from them.

Sure. I Recycle My Picks From My Guitar To My Bass. Then I Throw Them In The Garbage. Is That Green Enough ?

My wife gave me a sterling silver plectrum engraved with the words "I pick you" on Valentine's Day. I don't actually use a pick so that one will be staying in pristine condition and not getting recylced. :D

But of course the advantage of silver, gold and platinum picks is that they can be recycled - profitably! Just a thought...
