I personally use www.ultimate-guitar.com to get tabs and other guitar resources....i think its a great site that provides tabs to most songs, lessons, reviews, and a lot of other helpful resources... i used to use their forums a lot as well, but it seems really overrun by spammers and flamers who don't contribute to a goood discussion like you do here

i'll also use some books from the artist and my guitar teacher, but not as much as the internet

just curious as to how every gets their music when they aren't jamming and want to learn soemthing

ya, i used to use a lot of different sites, but the Music Publishers Association (MPA) didn't think it was fair to have tablature up without artists getting a cut of it since they sell tab books... they said it was along the lines of copyright infringement (article: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/08/29 ... nder_fire/)

the only reason the site i posted is still up is that it is based in russia, which the american based MPA can't touch since it isn't restricted under Russian law.... they pay royalties as well to keep it going i believe, check it out though, i find it can be a great resource

911 tabs here too. I use to get all mine from "Power Tabs", they shut it down though.

Fortunately when they shut it down, they transfered all the power tab files over to other sites.

I would rather have power tabs than guitar pro.

I have quite a collection of power tab, but resources have become somewhat scarce.

so it seems like you guys like powertab? i was either thinking of getting it or guitar pro, i wasn't overly satified by the guitar pro trial... is power tab better? the site i showed has plenty of them so i think it would be a worthwhile investment

That is the site I used to get a lot of my PT's. I couldn't find the link in my favorites.
If I'm not mistaken I got the power tab editor as a free download.

I have a large Powertab and Guitar Pro collection many megabytes worth. I find I don't use the tab as often now, trying to train my ears. I go back to the tab to see how I'm doing.

Guitarpro has alittle more options and things to play with, but I think all that crap just clutters it up. Plus you have to buy guitarpro to be able to use it to a further extent.

Powertab is better in my opinion because it's all just straight forward no nonsense type of stuff and it's "FREE". What I love about it is that you can see the tab to all instruments on the same screen, unlike guitarpro where you have to select the instrument in the song to view it's tab.

Powertab is not as flashy as guitarpro but it get's the job done and does everything that a tab viewer/editor could possibly do.
