It's already on YT. I like Dweezil's tone and riffage :

Frank Zappa gave his wife two choices for a name for their new son. One of them was Dweezil. Any body remember the other name?

There is another picture of the Hendrix strat body at this link:

I like it because Frank is using the melted pickup covers.

Sure was! I watched the show last night and when Leno was announcing Alice Cooper, he said he would be joined by Dweezil Zappa, (who would be playing Jimi Hendrix's "Burnt Strat"). If that youtube vid was backed up a couple of seconds, it would have been on there.

Yes, it is the same body of the Strat. Everything else is different, but still has
that "mojo" going on and man, he's got that EVH tapping thing down good!!!

I like Dweezil, But the Father left some LARGE shoes to fill. Frank Zappa will always be a cut above most, (Musically and Socially) and it's got to be hard on Dweezil, because he is good, But his Dad still casts a long shadow. I think Julian Lennon went through the same syndrome. 8)

Very nice. I'm a Zappa fan but I didn't know about the Hendrix strat.

Sorry... I call as I see em... and the Dweez sure butchered what was a classic solo...and he always trys too hard to be flashy and it always comes off forced...and that tone was thin and buzzy IMO...

On the other hand AC sure sounded in good form as did the rest of the band :!:

What's the story on the guitar in the second picture. It sold at auction for over 400K. Did Hendrix burn two guitars at the Miami Pop Festival and Frank got one of them?

He torched one at Monterey Fest, not sure about a Miami Fest? Also the 400K one had the reversed headstock as shown I think. :?:

There was a great article in GP many years ago about how Frank
ended up with the Strat and what he did to it.

I read the GP article. Some of the details of the evolution of the guitar seem confusing.
In the one picture, Dweezil is playing the strat before it goes up for auction. It has 3 white single coils, reverse headstock, white knobs and red pg.
In the Leno video it has normal headstock, black single coils and pg.
If someone paid over $400K for the guitar, why would they completely change it.
If it was the same guitar, was Dweezil borrowing it for the Leno show?
At first it made me think there were two different guitars. That's apparently not right but it's still a little strange.
