i mean one thats hardly gotten any press, hardly known if at all,
one that nobody really even talks about.
this person isnt famous in any way really, but you like them
for whatever reason.

IE: george johnson, guitar player of the "brothers johnson band". he wasnt famous by any means but he sure could carry a tune.

Duane Denison.... with The Jesus Lizard he wrote riffs that were aggressive, sharp, and haunting.... You can tell the guy can REALLY play, but he's never confused that with a need to show off and play obnoxiously long winded solos. Also, ridiculously badass tone

me too. i like the way he uses the different pickups in this song to create
the mood. i like the way he plays it over billy gibb. lol
i just dont get it with billy. how the hell did he get his reputation that he has?
my opinion, hes in the top 5 most overrated anything of all time, yet hes considered
an authority on blues? i just dont get it.

One of my favorite bands out there these days is Indigenous.

There lead singer/Guitarist is Mato Nanji, and Native American from south Dakota.
He start out playing with his cousins, i saw them the first time on Austin city limits, and I have all there CD's so far.

They are a blues band that plays with Native American drum beats.
He plays almost as good as Stevie Ray, but no one has heard of them, that is until I lead them to them.

My favorite unknown guitarist is my great aunt Rene. She's 86 years-old and started playing when she was 8. Do the math... . She is by far the best bluegrass guitarist I've ever heard. No joke. I have some old cassette recordings she did, I'll have to transfer them to digital format and upload something.
