It's not cheap: about $1300!

Good luck!

Even though this is an old post, I've only just come across it when googling the Dave Murray Strat.
Firstly, it's a shame that the new model wasn't fitted with a Floyd Rose like all his own customised Strats.

Secondly, the first post on this thread is totally inaccurate.
I have been a Maiden fan for 30 years now and have followed the careers of the band, especially the guitarists. At no time has Dave Murray played a Tele; at no time has Adrian Smith played a Firebird; at no time has Janick Gers played a Les Paul.
1. Dave Murray only plays Strats that Fender have built/customised for him.
2. Adrian Smith now plays a signature Jackson , but does also play Strats, a Les Paul and an SG on some songs.
3. Janick Gers only plays strats with modified pickups.

If you are such a fan of the band, or of any of the guitarists, you should surely know what equipment the guys use!!

Cheers from the UK

Now, I try to stay open minded about music. I actually am not a heavy metal guy, more of hard rockin blues based guy. But, I couldnt agree with that DJ more.

I am not a huge Maiden fan, but they are a pure joy to see live. The beauty of these guys is that they are soooo musical ... very epic songwriting and serious music chops. I have a few of their albums on my iPod but - admittedly - do not listen to them much. However, I see them live every chance I get, which (unfortunately) is not too often. I bet there are alot of people in this forum that would enjoy them live more than they think they would. Like you said, BigJay, it is "about the music" and Maiden delivers it in spades ...

I have been an Iron Maiden fan since 1985. I have all their albums...some are better than other of course. Dave is a great guitarist and I would love to spend some time with Maiden to learn; however, I do not believe he is the "greatest guitarist" in the world. There are just too many out there alive and dead that still out rock him. Still, I do have to admit that I would be a little geeked out if I did meet him in person.

Iron Maiden has been around the block a few times. I think Steve Harris is the most tailented one in the Band.

Dave Murray is the greatest guitarest because he and Steve Harris(bass) are the only orginial members Dave uses the Fender Strat or Tele, he plays most of the solos and the other ones Adrian Smith uses Gibson Explorer or Firebird and the other guy whos name i can't quite rember uses Either a Jackson or Gibson but there double necked so thats cool, they formed in Britan In 78 or 79 sometime in the 70's on christmas day, there top album is number of the beast.

saw IM in late sept. '88 rosemont horizon guns and roses puked out , megadeath instead mega lived up to their name maiden had the big bust guy holding a giant pulsing heart eddie made an appearance (or was i , hallucinating?) got a t-shirt with my drummer backstage wore it 'til it fell apart .

I first saw them in 1979 when Dennis Stratton was the guitarist. (who??). I have seen them many times here in the UK and they can still show the young 'uns a trick or two. All over 50 years old and still running around like teenagers. Roll on 25 May when the new double DVD is released here in the UK. (early June in the US).
Cheers!!
