My Vette is my daily car, it aint no race car but it's ready to perform its duties at the track when called upon ;) I'm in Florida, I don't have to worry about snow, but we get plenty of rain and heat... the AC in the Vette is way better than all the other cars I've owned.

When it comes to performance only I doubt anyone will rival Italy (much as I hate Italian cars) or Japan. Let's see America produce a 1.3 litre two door saloon capable of 200 mph and 0-105 in 3.5 seconds. Forget that rolling quater mile nonsense. Lets have some accurate measurements eh.

What saloon car are we talking about here?

LOL 1/4 mile is not a rolling start, it is an accurate measurement for acceleration ;) I'm not a 1/4 mile kinda guy, I need a car that turns and breaks!

The UK used to make some sweet cars... but what have you done for me lately?? :D I mean c'mon, even Clarkson makes fun of British cars, and you know how much he loves to make fun of American cars!

yes but, a very big BUT, the us department of trans plainly stated that their finds in said recalls were driver error. the gas pedal that was in question was also found to be used on various other cars excluding toyota and thats when things started to die down for toyota and the recall deal. you wouldnt believe how many millions of cars the manufactures all over the world recall every yr. it would blow you away cedar.
i have a very good theory behind why that happened to toyota. i can only disclose that to you in a PM if thats ok. im sure it will blow your mind too. its a very different way at looking at what really happened.

I was just kidding, I appreciate Japanese cars and their reliability, I wouldn't mind owning a GTR right now...

Hey come on, don't judge the UK on Clarksons opinion. He's from a place 17 miles from me that is a anagram of the word 'wanker'. Something I find very appropriate.
Theres the Jag XF for one, though yeah it lacks in performance when compared to supercars. It does however offer superb luxury. A perfect combination of performance and luxury in my opinion. And Aston are still knocking out the occasional DB, I was down there last week. Much to my delight.
Oh the 3.5sec 0-105 200+mph 1.3 is the Nissan Skyline (also named by Clarkson as probably the best car in the world. For what thats worth(you can guess what I think of him) ).

Anyway, non of it's a 5 litre Rolls is it? Sod anything else, thats what you need to own. Particularly a Lennon replica one. Just imagine how your Tele is going to look on that backseat.
Get out Yoko, gotta make room for my axe!

The Chinese guy who did that a f#$%@ing fool and does not deserve to drive such a quality motor vehicle.... I bet you it's some old money rich kid who had a tanty cause his Ferrari and Bentley don't give him troubles.....And Daddy would not have put up with this when he was alive.... So let the dirt poor working class that cant afford a new bicycle go to town on a world class hand made car and help with his obscene disgusting display of a filthy pig with no respect for money or hand made italian sports cars, In a "communist" country where the general populace live in the worst circumstances and get paid pittance but there all "equal". I would love to elbow the fascist pig and break his nose and then make him live in the circumstances that the guys with the sledge hammers lived in for the rest of his life.....Disgusting! And insulting to so many on so many levels!!

as an inside player, the whole ordeal got very interesting indeed.
then when the truth about the "truth" came out, everybody buckled and left toy with the mess to clean up.

How can you call that car a quality vehicle when it won't start?

I could buy banger after banger for £50 a time, all day long that do that, not start.

Typical Italian cars. All show and no go.

I do however agree with this. Though Italy is quite the dictatorship behind the scenes.

Not to be argumentative but will have to agree to disagree there Nikninja...... Italians put so much Passion into there Automotive design. 8)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3wVbIbU2Cs

Germans on the other hand are so precise and brilliant at what they do, Kinda like comparing Vai to Ray Vaughn, Vai may be perfect but Ray Vaughn prevokes emotion, Subjective and opinion i know but that's what the Italians go for wholly and soulley emotion and the resources and money and facilities and man power they use to do so is but a mere fraction of what the Germans have at their disposal. A 997 Turbo is a lovley place to be belive me but a Lambo E gear is pure unadulterated wheeled orgasam and it's faster .

I am passionate about this subject reason being I am a Automotive Design engineer and worked in Germany for a good part of my adult life for German automotive manufacturers. I only wish Italians would have given me the same opportunity. Their way to proud to let anyone non Italian that is not a massive name be involved in their life blood and culture. If they did i would no doubt be still there. Anywayz. Enough of my rambling. Hits a heart sting is all.

Alfa Romeo (and therefore probably Maserati too) are now owned by BMW.

Who knows in a couple of years it may be worth owning one. Though when BMW bought Rover from Honda, they didn't do much for Rover. Whether that was because Honda's ammendments were hard to improve on, or BMW were commited to a hands off approach. I don't know.

I still maintain that a car that doesnt start or stop properly is ready for the scrapyard.

And the only emotion Vaughn provokes from me is to turn the stereo off.

(yes thats their name lol). do any of you folks over seas know anything about cars/trucks that are currently being made in india? we dont have any of their stuff here at this time.
just wondered if they were of any quality at this point.

TATA are ok. Well the couple of pickups I drove were. Never owned one.

It's never going to be the king of Pickup trucks, that belongs firmly to the Toyota Hi-lux. Damn indestructable beast that it is.

http://www.topgear.com/uk/videos/killing-a-toyota

Even put the thing ontop of a building then blew the building up and the truck started.
