I was surfing through the channels the other morning, trying to wind down from an all night work session, and I stumbled across the VH-1 classic channel. I was bored and thought what the heck, I can catch some of the older videos from back in the day. First up: The Stones"She's so cold", then I noticed something that I was oblivious to when I was growing up watching these vids. Their guitars were not plugged in. :? or amps for that matter. Not to mention how weird it was to see these guys faking all this stuff. Now, I'm somewhat intelligent(sometimes), but until I started playing guitar, I never noticed it! Next up: Rod Stewart "Hot Legs" wow.... the setting is in an old south-of-the-border setting, Rod's lead guitarist commences to do a baaaaaad version of Chuck Berry's "duckwalk" OMG can you imagine what the onlookers were thinking? "Heres this nut duckwalking down a railroad track, pretending to play guitar"....again unplugged. :roll  : While I realize these are videos and usually are lip synched and the playing is faked, if one is going to spend that kind of money to make a video, why not spend a couple of bucks and get a cord? Maybe build some cardboard amplifiers? This way, maybe it would seem a bit more realistic. Just a random thought  Anyways, if you are ever bored,(and want a good laugh) tune in.
Honestly, I'd rather just listen to Sirius and use my imagination...lol
Here are some of the vids for your entertainment:

No offence to the Stones BTW

You wanna see lip-synch in it's gestational stages, check out some of Dick Clark's American Bandstand clips. I often wonder what happened to that backline of Vox Super Beatles. AFAIK they were never played through four or five seasons of the show. Prolly worth ten grand apiece on Ebay now......
