Thirty nine next month, and dreading every minute of it.

I felt terrible about turning thirty, from when I was twenty eight. Hit thirty and it was the best year of my life. Moved in with my gal, first kid landed. Really great stuff that sounds very depressing to a kid. But at the right time in your life is utterly amazing.
I made sure I had all my wild times out the way before I settled down.

Now I'm dreading turning forty. The only problem is I can't see anything else to do. It's like I'm waiting to die.

I look fifty, by the way.

Alain, you could be my dad. I'll happily adopt you as my guiding parent who must be obeyed.

Another 6 months and I can get my provisional licence.

i didn't realise you were that young. thought you were one of the middle aged dudes on here

Now if only the bar and off licence staff made the same mistake, I'd be golden.

Ah, yes, we had this sort of topic back in the spring of 1845. Of course, in those days I was only a young buck, working hard to make a living, which was hard enough, what with the beginning of the potato famine and all that.... then some clever chap came along and invented the rubber band. It all got better from then on.... Image

Old guys rule :!: 8) Just consider what 55+ years of Fender brings to this Forum. Your vintage treasures were our journeyman's gear. Now that's what I call 'been there, done that' :D

Fortunately, I still have the "used" Fenders I bought in some decade long ago ... now they are indeed vintage treasures.

Its been a long time since I rock and rolled,
Its been a long time since I did the stroll.
Ooh, let me get it back, let me get it back,
Let me get it back, baby, where I come from.
Its been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
Yes it has.
Its been a long time since the book of love,
I cant count the tears of a life with no love.
Carry me back, carry me back,
Carry me back, baby, where I come from.
Its been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
Seems so long since we walked in the moonlight,
Making vows that just cant work right.
Open your arms, opens your arms,
Open your arms, baby, let my love come running in.
Its been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.

38 and like a good wine just getting better.........

A quick search. Heard that before, the last couple of these threads. How old are you supposed to be for these threads again I wonder? Ok, think I've got it. Old enough to know better and young enough not to give a dang.

Which reminds me of the story of the octagenarian who complained to his doctor that every morning precisely at 7:30 he had a bowel movement. "That's really wonderful", replied the doc. "You're quite regular.'' "But doctor", cried the old man, "I don't get out of bed until 8:00!"

Hardly.....and not for many of us. " Old Time Rock and Roll" might be a better choice of lyric.
