When the sun slips down behind the hill, the kids all come out to play, they get a little band togather and dance the night away, you had to be quick to get a girl , because there wern't to many , the good ones got picked first anyhow , and that left just a few, so hurry it up , or you'll become a member of the band , but you know what I found out after playing in the band , the good ones didn't go with those other guys they just kind of hung around , and waited for the boys in the band to finish and come down , they'd choose one of us , they didn't seem to care , which one of us they ended up with , as long as wee could play , a guitar or something cool, that seamed to be the ticket , so if one picks you , take her and your guitar , and head down to the park , sing her a song about a star , and you'll see a twinkle in her eye , when she takes a breath , steal a kiss and hold her tight , dont ever hesitate , caws if you wait to long , it will spoil the mood , she'll get up and have to go , and you will miss out on what might have come around , like falling in love , on a worm summer night , in your home town
