your welcome.
a pep talk only works if you learn from it and act on its advice.

Ralfc....

Way Cool Jr. is giving you great "life" advice--it has nothing to do with a band per se. The DH factor can make the best situation stink. I left what should have been a great job, with great people, all professional, because the boss and owner made "The Devil Wears Prada" look pleasant.

Life is too short to let a DH give you stress. It can't be good for your playing either, and you can't be enjoying playing right now either.

So WCJ has put it well: Either the bass player moves on or you do. The only thing I would add is that it's bad form to give an ultimatum. It WILL come back to haunt you.
If your other band mates don't agree with your about replacing him, then they've made their choice and kiss 'em good-bye and move on.

Best of luck.

um yeah, more often than not you will get your ultimatum answer there on the spot and it might suprise you. just go in with full intention of bettering your situation one way or another, and hold fast to your decision and make things happen.
we want to hear results bro. i know we are talking you into a situation you might not be comfortable with, but its for your own good. your gonna find yourself in uncomfortable situations in life and you will be forced to deal with them. thing is, we here care enough about you and your situation. a lot of us have seen or been through this ourselves.
no good can come from this ongoing stress in your life and band situation.
take action for yourself one way or another. do remember, there is a very good chance that this wont be the last band you will ever be in no matter what you choose to do here.

Not me! If someone gives me an ultimatum like that he/she is GONE! I never give 'em because that's just what I expect.

Too bad you're not in the US--then you'd sue him for "destruction of skills" or some other such nonsense.
