Hi Agent Nutter: wow, you've got good coms there on your secret assignment, Double-Oh-Six! 8)

P.S.: Nice of you to choose an example pic that includes a pair of decent legs AND a guitar. Kudos! ;)

Ah, the glacial Charlotte Hatherley. I was standing about six feet in front of her just the other night: she's taken over the lead guitar spot in KT Tunstall's band. That's not my photo - but I have a few that I must get round to downloading from my phone.

Anyhow. I believe attention holding pictures are a well-known technique for making a tutorial more effective. Where did I learn that...?

Hi Gridlok. Then join us! I have a strong instinct that would be one of the really fun get-togethers. Beer, beach, food and guitars: let's do it! :D

Ah! Well once you get them off your phone, do post here - do not postpone!

(sorry for the little rhyming exercise there, friends!)

Cheers

Ha! Well when a man actually requests his own thread to be hijacked it would only be bad manners to refuse.

Disclaimer: my phone takes lousy pictures. Five million pixels - but a lens made from the bottom of a beer glass, apparently.

Oh well: this was the only remotely in focus shot I got of Charlotte Hatherley, backing Katie Tunstall at The Forum in North London a couple of weeks ago. Playing a 1500-ish capacity venue with nothing more than a brace of Orange Tiny Terrors - I bet Orange are hugging themselves with satisfaction over that!

Ms Tunstall's solo spot:

And just for the heck of the hijack, here's Chantel McGregor last night at the 100 Club in Central London:

Image

Image

She was great! A diminutive little kid in a ball gown playing fairly shreddy hard blues-rock on a Musicman and a FretKing through a small Egnater rig. Neat. Note her name: we're going to be hearing more of this young lady.

There ya go: that's how to post photos - albeit not very good ones.

Cheers - C

Pizza is a favorite food although Niki's version of a beef pot pie (American version) looked scrumptious as well. Thanks for clearing the picture posting operation, up. A Nutter photo sticky might be a good idea, but writing that... Too early, coffee needed

Hi there!

Every once in a while there is someone new to our waters who would like to share some images, but doesn't know how. Hopefully this little guide can help them out! :)

So, to post pics from your own hard drive I'd create an account at photobucket.com or some other hosting service. There you upload the pictures.
You can embedd pictures if you paste links into the message you're creating, then highlight the link and click on the "Img"-button at the top of the menu.

Image

Or, and even easier, you can trigger an already formatted link of the desired image straight from photobucket, and simply paste it into the message.

Image

If you want to post a pic that is already somewhere on the internet, you don't have to re-upload it to your own photo hosting service. You can simply paste the link in question into the message and affectionately treat it with the "Img"-button-method mentioned above. :)

BTW: Hitting the "Preview" button at the bottom of the message entry window can help give an idea what the finished post may look like. For instance, you can check on the size of pictures. Sometimes pics can be way too huge, or very very tiny, either can be hard to navigate. Just try it out and I'm sure you'll get there! :)

And to show that you are now accomplished pic-posters, if you want, post a pic of your No. 1 guitar right here as an answer to this thread! (We forumites LOVE piccies!)

Enjoy your stay on the forums! It's a great place! 8)

Cheers

Nutter

edit: shamelessly upgraded with paragraph about pics from the web in general. Thanks to Mr C for pointing it out. :)

Thanks Nutter! :D
