+1 on that bump!

Partly because it gives me the opportunity to address the following:

Hey Nutter, I have that very same feeling too! E forse ti piace anche un'insalata Cesare e una grande bottiglia di Chianti di buona qualita per la tua colazione a lungo? E poi, il tiramisu, e finalmente i caffe corretti - naturalmente. Va bene. 8)

An ignorant southerner's interpretation of eyetalian.
"I'm a gonna eat a big ceasar salad and drink a big bottle of wine before I pour cologne into my lungs and finish it off with a latte..."
 Is that close?

:D Hee-hee - we talked about this when The Nutter and I met for lunch the next day. I want it on the record that I do know perfectly well that there is no such thing as an insalata Cesare in genuine Italian food. And that colazione a lungo is absolutely not how to say long lunch in Italian. These were both meant to be jokes for the knowing.

However, the other beginner's mistakes (to which my Italian teacher has now kindly drawn my attention) were real. Oops...

Tell ya what, though. It was a ve-e-e-e-ery long lunch! :D 8)

Cheers - C

So. Bratwurst on the beach next time, huh?

PS: bratwurst - is that a sausage made from brats?

Hi there!

Every once in a while there is someone new to our waters who would like to share some images, but doesn't know how. Hopefully this little guide can help them out! :)

So, to post pics from your own hard drive I'd create an account at photobucket.com or some other hosting service. There you upload the pictures.
You can embedd pictures if you paste links into the message you're creating, then highlight the link and click on the "Img"-button at the top of the menu.

Image

Or, and even easier, you can trigger an already formatted link of the desired image straight from photobucket, and simply paste it into the message.

Image

If you want to post a pic that is already somewhere on the internet, you don't have to re-upload it to your own photo hosting service. You can simply paste the link in question into the message and affectionately treat it with the "Img"-button-method mentioned above. :)

BTW: Hitting the "Preview" button at the bottom of the message entry window can help give an idea what the finished post may look like. For instance, you can check on the size of pictures. Sometimes pics can be way too huge, or very very tiny, either can be hard to navigate. Just try it out and I'm sure you'll get there! :)

And to show that you are now accomplished pic-posters, if you want, post a pic of your No. 1 guitar right here as an answer to this thread! (We forumites LOVE piccies!)

Enjoy your stay on the forums! It's a great place! 8)

Cheers

Nutter

edit: shamelessly upgraded with paragraph about pics from the web in general. Thanks to Mr C for pointing it out. :)

hi nutter, look buddy i've joined photobucket down loaded my pics there.
In my thread if hit the img button x2 and posted my pics inbetween the 2 icons.
i hit preview.all it shows writing between the img's and no pic...grrrr :x
i even hit save, and it has 2 icons saying 'image' no pic.

As SuperKid says, you only need to hit the Img button once.
If you copy the IMG-code from Photobucket, you don't need to hit the Img-button at all. Just paste the code in the post.

:)

Hi darbomb: my agents tell me The Nutter is away on a covert foreign mission for a few days, but perhaps I can help in his place.

Here's a slightly simpler way to insert your Photobucket pictures here on the Forum.

Image

1. Go to your Photobucket album and hover your cursor over the picture of your choice.
2. As you keep it there the little drop down menu opens beneath it (see picture above).
3. Move your cursor down to that bottom line, named "IMG code".
4. Click somewhere on that line of code - the code will then briefly be replaced by the word "copied".
5. Come to your post on this Forum and paste the code in here, either by choosing edit > paste, or by going right-click > paste or by hitting Ctrl+V. In other words, a normal copy & paste routine.

Presto, the required line of code appears in your text here, complete with necessary "IMG" tags. Nothing further to do. When you submit your post the code will be replaced by your photo on screen. Like this:

Image

If you are unsure of what that should look like in a post, hit "quote" at the bottom of my one here and examine what I've done.

Howzat?

Cheers - C

Hi Ceri, you're right, as usual, and well-informed. However, I have certain informers here who tell me when to drop by.... ;-)

Your description is much more accurate than mine! Where did you learn to make such good tutorials? :D

Cheers

Nutter

P.S.: Nice of you to choose an example pic that includes a pair of decent legs AND a guitar. Kudos! ;)
