Here's the list of Matsushita Tubes inside this Radio.

QTY.
2 - 6A08
2- 6AU6
2- 6BA6
1- 6AL5
1- 6X4

After researching I found this info:

Matsushita founded in 1918 its main business is in electronics manufacturing and it produces products under a variety of names including Panasonic and Technics.

In 1961, Konosuke Matsushita traveled to the United States and met with American dealers. Panasonic began producing television sets for the U.S. market under the Panasonic brand name, and expanded the use of the brand to Europe in 1979.

startele52 I like your theory that Leo may have had these built by another company. Leo may have met with Konosuke Matsushita to produce these Radio's and then place the Fender Logo on them.

Like I stated early in this post I believe these Radio's were used as Dealer Incentives and were not sold to the General Public this would explain why not many people would have known about them. I would say they were given as prizes to those Fender Dealer's who had sold an X-number of Fender Guitars in a certain time period that's just my guess, But either way its still a part of Fender History. I'll keep researching!

Leo Fender repair radios but I never read that he building some. I have almost all book about Fender. But I could miss some information.

Or this logo is like car dealers put their bussiness name on our car today. But the strange thing, this Fender logo have a model number ????

Leo made this radio or ordered from a radio bulder company ?

One would think with the Fender Label and the Model number it would be something that would be easily tracked down but this has not been the case so far. Hopefully there will be some Fender Guru out there that knows the History of these Radio's.

I may have to jump over to some Antique or Vintage Radio website's to see what the Radio Collector's have to say, it could be possible that they have seen or own one of these Radio's at one time or another.

The coolest thing is that Debbie Shuck the Executive Director of the Fender Center Museum sent a reply to my email with pic's in regards to this Fender FM Receiver, and hopefully someone in California will have the answers I've been looking for a long time. Only time will tell!
