Me and couple of friends of mine decided to form a hip-hop band (embarrashing I know  ) named Obutuary, then two of us decided to form another group behind the third guy back named MilleniuM, yes with big M's at both ends. Nothing, execpt bad lyrics, became of both of the bands.

The worst part is there arn't any kids that like blues and classic rock wich is all I know :| .

Chin up--I had the same problem for years, which is why I ended up in a band with a bunch of guys that are 15-20 years older than me...they're surprised a guy my age knows so much about the music of their generation.

Eventually you'll find some other old souls who you'll click with, or you'll find some old guys who respect you enough to give you a chance.

(1) Impure Motives-- since we were in our late teens, that is self explanatory.
(2) Regulators--after the Young Guns movie and the fact I had a job adjusting the chemical gas regulators at a microprocessor wafer fab.
(3) Soul To Soul--originally some of the guys wanted to call that band "Rhythm Method", which two of the very naive, very young chick backup singers (girlfriends of the bassist and guitarist) thought was cool until I made my wife tell them what that meant...thus, we became "Soul To Soul", named after the SRV song.
(4) Wheels Off--anybody who lives in D/FW and listens to 1310AM The Ticket will understand.
(5) Screamin' Armadillos--since 2002
(6) Cowboy Gypsies--side project (recording only)
(7) UFJ (the Unidentified Flying Jackasses)--occasional side band that plays country

You're welcome. Also, there's nothing wrong with being a bit nerdy...most of us here are, and most successful people are nerdy about something. Truth be known, the coolest people and best friends I've ever had were all kinda nerdy. The "cool guys" who were concerned about being cool usually weren't very loyal or very "deep".

Probably should have been called Implosion. Lasted long enough to get played on the local radio one time.

Opus and Opus II, yeah we were sooo full of ourselves in our younger days...but we were also sooooo serious about playing the blues and blues based rock.

But after seeing some of the earlier names, we were quite tame! Some real gems here.

I liked the Helium Kings...that is a classic :!:
