Hi
Our school has its annual Rock n Pop festival coming up on the 1st March and I have been put in charge of the technical requirements. Stage/lights/sound etc. It is an open air concert in a football field. Can someone check this list out and see if I have missed anything out?I'm not that experienced with PA systems or lighting so that is where I am weak.

General
Stage 15m x 8m
Drum Riser 5m x 3m

Guitars and keyboard
2 x Marshall Valve Lead Amplifier + stage mics for both amps
1 x Bass Guitar Amplifier + stage mic or output to desk
Keyboard amplifier? + monitor?

Lights

4 sided aluminum light rig with:
2 sets of Coloured lights
2 Haze lights
4 Rotating lights
2 Rotating lights
2 Smoke machines

Sound
Large stack audio speakers each side of stage
Subwoofers
9 monitors on stage – 3 central and 2 for each side. 1 for drums and 1 for keyboards
8 vocal microphones + stands.
3 guitar microphones + stands (if amps have DI then can use this instead)
4 guitar keyboard DI ports
1 mixer desk + amps
1 drum kit + microphones. + 1 spare snare drum and bass drum pedal.

Thanks

Seems pretty thorough to me. One piece of advice is to make sure you have a decent distance between the light bar and the stage if possible. It'll give you a little wider range of light rather than a focused beam from close up. I find that it really makes the stage look brighter from the crowd if the lights cover more area.

You have it covered pretty well.
Don't forget spare cables, some solderless connectors
And basic tools (pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers etc.)
Don't need often, but shame to screw up a gig
if wire or connector goes bad..........IT HAPPENS....
Good luck with the show.

don't try and power all that on one cord! You need at least 2 for mixer and amps.
3 for your lights should be good. Each amp on stage should have a power bar next to it.One bar at the front. DON'T OVER POWER A CIRCUT!!!use several if you could.ALL POWER MUST BE GROUNDED WHEN OUT DOORS!!!
I may only be 12 but I've run sound before and I know what I'm talking about!See for your self...http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=52493
Not being mean. I want it to work for you with no probems :D

Thanks for all the great advice. Will definitely be careful with the electrics! I need a decent sound engineer now. The company I am hiring the gear from doesn't have anyone :( Why is nothing ever simple :(
