I used to ride around in my friends 72 Catalina raising hell and CCR was the soundtrack. Born on the Bayou is my favorite CCR and one of my favorite songs in general. Those were fun days, thanks for reminding me and bringing a smile to my face.

Keep on chooglin!

I like most of their songs. Everytime I hear them, its like a flashback from when I got back from Nam in `69.

Still love the songs.

My girl friend from grade 9 had a couple of the ablums when they first came out. Kind of a pavlovian response I guess.

John Fogerty came out with a DVD a few years back.."The long Road Home - In Concert"
Very good if you're a CCR fan. Billy Burnette does a fine job on guitars! JF is no slouch either.

I loved Fogarty's lead breaks in Suzie Q and I Put a Spell on You-they way he got that old Rickenbacker to feedback in the key he was playing was just great.

One of my first "rock" cassettes was a bootleg "CCR Live in Europe" I bought at a flea market...I listened to that tape until it broke.

Because of that tape (and the song), I used to always use the expression "Keep on chooglin'". Most of my friends knew what I meant (or they just assumed it meant "let's boogie" or something along those lines).

It wasn't until years later when my wife and her friend said, "What in the world does that mean?" that I realized the kids of my generation (born 1970) had never heard the song...

Fogerty is great. I remember he had defend his newer songs in a lawsuit because he sounded too much like himself.

Damn you!

I just realized that I don't have any CCR at the moment, so now I'm gonna have to go get me some.

How can you not like their music?

Thank you sir, for standing up and putting your neck on the line while everyone too scared to back their country protested and got loaded.
That goes to you too Arjay.

Okay, so having gone on a CCR listening binge, I've arrived at the following conclusion:

What makes them great isn't musical virtuosity or the production values...

What makes them great is how raw and honest the music sounds.

"Raw and honest" is good.
