Samuel Adams
Patrick Henry
Thomas Jefferson

Although, Thomas was much better on the Harpsichord than he was on guitar.

I know they're revolutionary guys...but I never heard they were guitar players.

Wow that's hard.

Robert Johnston i suppose.
Jimi would have to be there.
If only three i am guessing George harrison or EVH cant decide. I guess George touched more people.

Revolutionary guitarists was the question!!!!

Easy:

Eric Clapton - Can do it all on guitar and well he is God :!:
Duane Allman - Play slide? This is how it is done, Period :!:
Chuck Berry - Enough said :!:

This should be interesting post...

Jimi Hendrix was to guitar what Nicolo Paganini was to the violin.Jimi's brilliant unorthodox approach to the guitar changed the whole guitar playing world and turned it on its ear as did Paganini's violin to the violin world almost 200 years previous.

Robert Johnson almost goes with saying. For a man to have a recorded history of only 29 songs and to stun and mesmorize the whole guitar world is a tremendous feat.Make no wonder that rumors of him having made a pact with the devil abounded.

For number 3 I'd have to say Les Paul even though Charlie Christian could easily slip into 3rd place too. When you take Les' technical contribution to guitar along with his amazing playing ability I believe that he edges Charlie out by just a smidgeon.

I'll say Hendrix and Clapton, but there are so many other choices that NOT giving the 3rd allows me to skate on all the other valid choices. tricky

How about Willie Kizart????

He was the guitarist on the original recording of Rocket 88.

I'd also suggest Link Wray and Dick Dale.

What!?! No Hank?

Hank Marvin gets my vote. He had one of the first (if not the first) Strat(s) to be imported to the UK.

Enjoy!

Andy
