I hope those are real Ibanez's and not cheap imitation Ibanez's. I didn't look.

( hope that doesn't get me in trouble)

The biggest collection of guitars that I ever saw personally was when the owner of Waco Vintage Guitars (after we'd conversed a dozen times and I'd bought a couple guitars from him) took me into the very large back room of his DFW shop. He collected the flashiest Gibson LPs and had dozens and dozens of the guitars in hard shell cases. He opened a few and let me look, but not touch. Many of the serial numbers were 000001.

He owned several of the big antique malls in the DFW area, so he had plenty of cash coming in, not to mention what he made buying and selling guitars. He told me he had a direct line to Gibson and a friend there always called him when a new model was coming out so he could get the first one.

A friend of mine in New Jersey has over 100. I think it's great, why would I be jealous? He has plenty of room, he can afford it (no kids), and he PLAYs them.

I myself have almost 30 or so, if you include acoustic guitars and bass guitars, and a few other stringed instruments (banjo, mandolin, ukelele).

I don't really mean jealousy in a bad way. But we know how humans are. Thanks for your story.

I don't know who does have tons of guitars (probably many rock superstars do have a large collection), but I'd certainly have only the ones I would actually use; so few but sweet for me. If I were into collecting, I'd probably get no more than 20 basses/ guitars, considering how much some of them cost (and I'm not wealthy).

True, a few different stringed instruments could increase the collection. I'm planning on getting an ukulele sometime soon.

Ive got 4 guitars right now and the most expensive was my Hwy 1 Tele which I got for $595 brand new. I would definatley like to get a Strat and LP one day but right now I'm satisfied which my limited collection. I love all 4 and play them. I just thought some members would tell some great stories about collections when I posted this topic and I haven't been disapointed. Great looking Bass by the way!

Nice collections, I like reading about these and checking out the pics.

Here is a prettty classy collection of MIJ LP's, he has a lot of rare and desirable guitars.

The only good one I've seen myself is a local one. Great collection of guitars, pedals, amps..ect.

I had over 100 guitars. Might be down to 80 now? Sold over 25 guitars just to make room. Mostly low end stuff but also a Les Paul Standard.

I have everything from Masterbuilt Strats, 56 Reissue Les Paul, Martin HD-35, to Hello Kitty guitar, Powerpuff Girls guitar and one of those cheap Gretsch Americana Guitar.

I'm continuing to re-evaluate guitars and getting rid of them. Unfortunately I just bought:

1. Mark Hoppus Shell Pink Bass (I have many basses too) from GC Used site
2. Wayne Kramer Strat from Ebay (love it! fantastic strat)
3. 60s Road Worn strat on sale at Sam Ash during PRez day
4. Vista Musicmaster shell pink (yup i collect shell pink instruments, that's why I have the hello kitty even though it's just pink) on its way from ebay

Yeah I know I've gone waaaay overboard. It is hard for me to dump a guitar that plays well though. It hurts in fact. Will continue to reduce though. I am making progress.
