I loved listening to the whole performance. I''m still waiting for a copy to come to my local dvd store :(

There are 2 different DVD's out with this on it. The first one is just the MTV Unplugged show with a couple of bonus songs. The second is called Nirvana Plugged/Unplugged and has another show on it too.
I'll probably get the Plugged/Unplugged version.

I was unaware of 2 different DVD's. Will definately have to check out the Plugged/Unplugged version. Thanks.

wow i was begginning to believe that everyone was into blues (on this forum) or god forbid emo/modern screamo metal/ or bubblgum stuff (most other places). i believe that nirvana was one of THE greatest bands of all time. so many talanted individuals make a group amazing (just look at dave and the foo fighters- pure brilliance!) i got the unplugged dvd for christmas and i was speechless while watching (mom country music loving mom shocked me by getting the dvd and a nirvana t-shirt!). i really believe that kurt was one of the few individuals that can change and shape a generation (and many people to come. dave is good enough to do that t0o imo). the grunge era and a lot of classic rock kick modern stuffs butt! (with a few exceptions) and i ask WHY MUST THE GOOD DIE YOUNG!

Hi. I'm new here. I found this thread and figured I'd make my first post here...

Admittedly, I'm a blues-head. My all-time favorite band is Led Zeppelin (I really wish Fender would recreate Jimmy Page's old Dragon Fender Guitar, and if they already have... I'm having a hard time finding it), and Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix move my soul like many others. But I think the best Fender guitarist was Kurt Cobain.

Nirvana was something else, really. I consider Nirvana's MTV Unplugged in New York one of, if not the, greatest live album of all time. And I have much of the unplugged series, including (if it's counted) Page/Plant Unplugged. But Nirvana's performance is so strong and so emotional... no other band, IMO, ever "went out" with such a strong performance.

The death of Kurt Cobain was, IMO, the death of good music. One wonders just what his guitar would sound like today. All that untapped, unexplored talent... one can only imagine where Nirvana and Kurt Cobain would have gone had he not died. Then again, if he were still alive, he may have retired in '94, ending Nirvana and his music career, anyways. He was the last true guitar hero, and Nirvana was really the last talented mainstream band.

I'm buying the Plugged/Unplugged dual set I think, unless it does not include the bonus tracks. "Oh Me" is actually my favorite song off the album, with "Where Did you Sleep Last Night" in a close second and "Dumb" in third.

And those are my thoughts on Nirvana's MTV Unplugged in New York.

My favorite was the cover of Leadbell's Where did you sleep last night? Great tune.

Wasn't the best unplugged I've seen but it was still pretty cool. 8)
