What are some of the best Telecaster copies? My reason for asking is I just recently played a Vintage Icon v52 and it was one of the best guitars, both in feel and sound, I have played. Also, I would like to get a "back up" tele in the future. I have also been looking at brands like Agile and Dillion...Is anyone familiar with these brands reliability/playability? Any recommendations?
Thanks for the help!

Maybe it's just me, but this post seems rather redundant...

Look into Edwards and Burney for really great Tele copies but be forewarned that some actually cost more than an MIA Tele. You can find dozens of top line Tele copies here : http://www.guitarsjapan.com .Dillion make great copies too.

I wasn't happy with my Telecaster so I made my own copy. You could always do that right? It might cost a bit but how else are you going to get exactly what you want in a Tele? Making your own is cheaper than Custom shop I would imagine.

*disclaimer- Making a Tele may not be your thing . I only did it once and promise not to do it again.

I was actually considering this as well. I went so far as to put a bunch of items on my "watch list" on ebay. Then I realized that it might consume alot of my time, so I decided to wait until summer if I actually go through with it, depending on if I find something between now and then.

If you look at Dillion one thing you need to be aware of. the original company is split in two, they are seperate companies now, and each services a different region. they get their guitars from different sources, and they are NOT the same.

So unless you are familiar with the products from each, I wouldn't sugest buying online.
