I was trying to determine if Fender would consider the production of a semi-hollow bass guitar. Compared to solid bodies, there are very few semi-hollow bodied bass guitars. Then I thought I would help their R&D Department and do a quick poll on whether there's enough interest to even begin such an undertaking. So please take the poll! I do not plan to do a statistical analysis of the responses. It's all in good fun! After all, the R&D guys get paid to do that!

Fender's already "been there - done that", back in the late '60s.

It was known as the "Coronado Bass".

Epic fail, IMO.

So color me "no".

I like the Gretsch one. Does FMIC own Gretsch? http://www.gretschguitars.com/products/ ... 2411412805

Thanks. I learn something new everyday. I had no clue they had one in the 60's. The only one I see from that era, at least on old vids, is the Epiphone.

Yes, I believe they do. I still think it would be nice to have a semi-hollow bass with the Fender name on it. Maybe they can improve on it since the 60's!

Guild (which is now part of FMIC) once made a nice HB Bass. That one might be worth a re-issue.
