this whole oil thing drives me nuts ( like everyone else)
Canada remains the largest exporter of oil to the U.S which many people don't realize

So why does Canada have such high gas prices to begin with?

While Americans are complaining about oil prices here is a quick conversion to illustrate how much Canada is paying, especially considering most of the oil in North America comes from here
1.26 (Canadian dollars per litre) = 4.90450367 U.S. dollars per US gallon

This is NUTS!!!!!!!

edit: here are my source for the export info

Gas here on Maui last week I think it was $3.95 and a few days ago it was $4.13. Our oil comes from Alaska and the far east not from OPEC. But the prices fallow along. Further more the oil is refined on Oahu so the oil they have has been here for a week or more but still the price's go up immediately.. Everything cost's more here. Mark

The anticipation of higher cruded prices is said to be affecting what retailers set their prices at in the present, given the possiblity that the next shipment from the refineries will cost more. Of course, there the option of speculating on oats, and seeing the price of your Cheerios go up in the process. Then again, no one has every told me recently to take care not to step in the engine exhaust as I crossed the street.

lol I literally got taken over the barrell today whilst at the pump (mind the pun)

I saw it went up to $2.20 ltr - highest it's ever been in my lifetime I can remember. We really are at the mercy of oil companies- the world's affairs really have no significance on the bottom line for the major players in the industrie.

We will never ever be proven otherwise.

The major players in the markets are in control of the governments and the oil companies. Start looking at the people in control of these large congomerates (spelling?) and you'll see a lot of the same names also you see former CEO's who are now in the political realm. Hmm, I wonder why things are the way they are? :?:

Now that's interesting. I love reading conspiracies, I was reading something that pretty much echoed what you just said in relation to todays major governments and the relationships with Illuminati, not that I'm a total believer but I love reading other peoples take on the way the world is run. I was reading up on the Denver International Airport on the weekend just gone too, fascinating stuff! :)

It isn't conspiracy it is a fact a lot these people went to the same colleges, sit on the same board of directors, worked for or with each other several times. That isn't conspiracy most would call it "networking".

You're from Canada eh! Lets have that posted in metric!!
Here in Saskatoon, gas (or petrol) is $1.19 /litre

Commodities...Commodities...Futures...Futures...

It all equals speculation, Puts and Calls.
You can bet the actual current price of oil is more the result of buyers shorting the market in anticipation of the chaos in the oil producing nations.
Why my Ford truck is usually parked. At 10mpg it never was a bargain, let alone at current levels. Luckily it is my work truck and my car gets 30+mpg..

There is no point in screaming about it

These people also rub shoulders with the elite- (politicians, banks, tobacco industries and military) something to ponder right there..

Commodities are a sure revenue for any govt- charging taxes like wounded bulls

For the last 10 years, 'been using about 400 gallons per year. Old Jeep Cherokee bought used, no payments, a here and there repair, not a gob of driving.

The price of available mobility.

Burbs of metro Chicago have "sadly inadequate" public transportation.
