Hey everyone,

I just picked up a squier J bass for $50
I know its a squier, but I thought it was a great beginner bass I can use to record at home.

Anyone have any experience playing one? Any recommended mods/upgrades?

Fifty bucks?

Heck, you could part it out for twice that!

Nice score.

ya Arjay, I thought of that, but heck I need a bass around :)
Was glad to see that these are on ebay anywhere from $125-$175 used
I saw someone parted out just the loaded body for $75

Played it for a few hours last night and this morning and am amazed I never had a bass around before, really diggin it!

Keep it intact then -- I keep one around for the very same reason. I even re-configured an old Bandmaster cab with a pair of bass drivers so I'd have something to play mine through.

Rawk on!

Absolutely a nice buy. You could have some fun with it and turn it around for a quick profit, if you wanted

That was an awesome deal. I would have jumped on it too. I am in the market for a nice "beginner" bass to fool around with myself.
