Different here mate, you can pick up a fatboy for chicken feed. £16K fully modded. A sportster for £5k. Old Electraglides keep their value but thats about it. Old Goldwings fetch a load.
That doesn't change the nature of the bike though does it. Bike's just aren't chick magnets in the UK. Porsche and cocaine are, but more importantly money. Till you hit about 35, then they look for solvency and stability.

The OP was completely looking for a argument with his/her initial post BTW. Something most of us have no time for. As you say, we can differ and get along fine. We don't hammer a opinion in till all bow to our will. We have and voice our opinions (based on perspective, non the less), when opportunity arises. We all have preferences, the more dyed in the wool the stronger the opinion.
Few of us seek a ruckus about it though.
So I say stay off topic.
And I do love the Harley look, I just don't think their the best bike in the world. Japan offers far more comfort and reliability. Italy offers far better performance. Neither nation garnered that style though, merely copied or outright ignored it.
So what you gonna play, a G&L, PRS, Gibson or a Fender?
It's all the same and nothing to get your 'nads in a twist about.
When you really get down to it, we all agree more than we differ.

There is hardly anything as comfortable on the old foots but a pair of well worn Blundstone boots.I guess some of my friends down under can vouch for that.
