I don't know how many of you have heard of this orginization, but they do alot of good work for OUR vets. This orginization collects guitars and donations for equipment to supply wounded vets with guitars, and lessons as part of their theopy.
As a vet,(and one who has used the services of the V.A.) I was wondering if anybody would be interested in putting in a bit of their time, knowledge, skills or even a small donation (Parts NO MONEY) towards building a custom guitar to donate to this worthy cause.
As some would say, just putting out some feelers to see if there is any interest here.
You can post here, PM me, or if you wish to stay off the radar E-mail me at newwt357@frontiernet.net
I feel this is a good cause that can really help the ones who have helped us.
I can start with the loaded pickguard from my Jimmie Vaughan Sig. Series if it ends up as a Strat build, if something else a brand new gigbag and practice amp.
I looked through the fourum rules and didn't see anything against this, if i'm mistaken, let me know and I will delete this right away.
Thanks for reading, and you can find the group by doing a search

I think I can help with some hardware -- I have a neck plate, a set of vintage-style tuners in gold, and a MIM vintage-spec Strat trem bridge (also in gold). PM me if you need them.

Would you be interested in the pickups from my MIJ strat?

They measure 5.63K ohms on the bridge, 5.64K on the middle and 5.66K on the neck. They're probably pretty decent pickups. PM me if you want them for this project.

EDIT - I should have read more carefully, you are starting with a loaded pickguard. I'll see what else I might have in the parts bin.

Great idea, I`m a Viet Nam Vet. Wish someone would have thought of this back then. All they did was spit at us when we got home, as If we wanted to be there. I`ll look around and see if I have anything I could donate.

Thanks, I'm kinda stoked to be doing this for the vets

The way you guys were treated made me sick. I was only around 10 at the time Viet nam ended but still at that time I new when I got out of high school I was gonna enlist. Its been what every male in my family has done since comming here in 1910. As far as the build goes, anything you can give would be great.
