She loved to do the two step when she was just 18 - she danced away her loviless in a way I've never seen - she danced away forever across that old wood floor the next thing I new she was 24 - and dancing even moore - the next thing she turned 30 and danced clean out of sight - the next thing she was 45 dancing day and night - the next thing she turned 60 will she stop someday - and now she's in her 70's she's turned old and gray - she spends her time in a rocking chair to pas the time away - she still keeps time to the music with her feet - as she rockes back and forth still in time with the beat - she still has a pretty smile but not as pretty as it was - when she was just 18 years old a perl is what she was - a lovely girl a pretty girl but I guess that dosent mater - because she danced away her lovliness on that old woden floor .

there he stands to watch the dance
imagining while he stares from his wallflower stance
the dancers dance the time away
his time is passed staring at the foot loose fray
as the years slip away the dancers age gracefully
just like their dance across the wooden floor their stage
but the wallflower grows old differently
without movement his years pass silently
he critiques and comments to himself
about the dancers moves and how they look
though like all wallflowers his words are moot
for without dancing how can you really know
what dancers look like unless you are on the dance floor
dancers dancing away their precious time
instead of staring but not moving
his mind imagining without grooving
might just as well be a mime
