NGD!!!! Orville by Gibson LPS-59R

Ok I'm weak, I had to buy it!!!!! This 1993 Orville By Gibson 59 Reissue should be here tomorrow or Thursday....It's going to look real nice next to my ObG Cherryburst 57 Reissue

It will be unveiled in Guitslinger's kitchen, as per usual, and promptly plugged into several of his classic amps....

Ah, yes, very nice!

It sounds like you've got a couple of sweet Orville by Gibsons there.

They are great guitars.

Thanks!!!! Yeah, I'm addicted to them lol. That's 2 ObG Reissues and 2 Orvilles(Custom and Special, both 97's with upgraded electronics)

Very nice!
I had never heard of Orville before joining these forums. They appear to be quality instruments. Is Orville an off-shoot company of Gibson's? or like Epiphone; in the sense of just lower priced and built overseas?

Hey Tim. I wouldn't say that they were made as a cheaper alternative to Gibson as the Epi's are. They were made specifically to sell on the Japanese market.

Thanks for the info Blinkers. I'm not in the market at the moment, but once it's time for another LP-style guitar I think I'm gonna look around for an Orville.
