I had a Danelectro Daddy-O, it popped every time I stepped on the switch. Tone was good, though.

I really dig my Bbe Crusher, it just flat out works, and has treb, mid bass control. I also like my Boss Blues driver.

Edit: Jeez I should read the title of the thread... The LEAST Favorite

From what I have now, I least like my Boss DS2...I can't seem to get a decent tone from it. Been getting around to selling it now for about a year :)

EDIT: Ha ha ha....I should pay attention to the topic as well. But I still don't like that pedal!!!

Not a specific pedal, but the overdrives you get from ZOOM multi-effects are horrible! Almost as bad as a solid state Crate amp overdrive...almost.

I'm not very fond of most of the Digitech pedals.

I liked my BD-2 until I compared it to a BYOC TS808 and BYOC Muff I picked up later. I could then hear the harshness of the BD-2. I prefer a more smooth, creamy distortion.

I modded the BD-2 with a Monte Alums kit, now it sounds as smooth as the byoc pedals. I like them all now, each sound different and provide different levels of distortion from the bd-2, then the TS808 and the most distortion is the muff. I smile the most when I crank up the muff, but it is not something to be used a lot.

All of them, I prefer the natural ( sic) tones arrived by pushing your amp to distorted levels.
A hot set of pick ups on a great axe run thru an amp that achieves your aim is the quest.
A distortion pedal is and always will be a facsimile, as well as just another gadget to complicate matters in a live gigging setting.

This is my opinion, but I find most people are using inadequate amps, most are too powerful for the requirements.
There is a myth out there that you need 40, 60 watt even 100 watt amps to achieve your sound. This is ludicrous, on a stage in a large hall where you are playing to a couple thousand or more people OK , you need to be able to project to the back row..

But with today's excellent P.A's that are able to project a band's sound out to the back rows, it makes no sense to use an amp that overpowers the rest of the band in order to distort. Not to mention that if you are so loud that patrons are leaving, you've missed the point.
A prime example would be in the " Crossroads " video's, close scrutiny reveals that all the guitarist are using small amps, 40 to 60 watts for a venue that is huge, all of it run and amplified thru the P.A.
In a small club situation which is where 99% of us are ever going to be a 15 to 25 ( valve-tube) watt amp is going to give you distortion which is not only very adjustable, but natural and much more predictable.
With a distortion pedal, no matter what the attack, the sound is going to stay the same, either way you cut it, the signal from your guitar is being altered artificially before it reaches the amp, what one hears from the amp is a clean pre-distorted signal. It sounds artificial and has none of the nuances and strange accents of a guitars signal being distorted thru the overdriven circuits of the amp.
Overdriving your amp by raising the amp's volume allows you to control the sound from your guitar by controlling your tone and volume controls.
This is why my biggest amp is a 40 Watt HRD, but I use a 15 watt Magnatone for the majority of my sound in a small setting. As well as a small Champ for practice.

Try it this way you will find sounds you never knew were there.

The current MXR offerings are a absolute no go in my book, any of em. All because of the Sac Wild overdrive. Horrible sound, noisy, even crap infront of a driven amp. I utterly abhor the thing.

Thanks for the tip! I was looking at a Create Amp to buy, but not now. I do agree Digi Tech and Zoom sound weak and very cheap. Thanks again.

That's funny. That specific pedal (Wylde Distortion) is my favorite overdrive pedal. I think it sounds great on the lower gain settings. Once my new amp get's here though, I think I'll retire any and all pedals.

Don't count out whatever amp you were looking at based on my comment. I personally hate Crate amps, after several years of using them, my taste just changed I guess. You might end up plugging in and loving what you hear.
