Depends. What guitar do you have ( the specific model ) and what finish....is it Nitrocellulose or Poly? Nitro can be fixed much easier. If you have a poly finish, and the wood is dented deep or some wood is missing, you will have to use wood filler (hope you have a solid color finish) and then you will have to paint the area to match. Not a job for the novice. Best advise.....just play it. It will pick up a ding or two along the way through it's useful life if you play it.

Sometimes it's really just easier and better looking to leave it alone, unless you get a professional to do it. There will be more dings down the road to join that first one anyway.

If it's into the wood, you might have to steam it out.

Then you'd have to touch up the finish.

All easier said than done, sorry.

Let it go. I was once told this about trucks (and would apply here too): The more dings you have, the more dings you can get.

The first one's out of the way...you can take a breath now! haha
My Jazz bass was bought used and has many dings on her and I have added a few-no problem. Like someone said-it's like getting the first ding in a pick up truck-there will be more...

It is easier to fix a Poly finished guitar then a Nitro finish. You can drop fill Poly
